(December 20, 2020) At 7:45 p.m., Dec. 20, Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a single-car motor vehicle accident on Old County Road in Higganum near the Hidden Lake Road and Killingworth Road intersection.
A section of road between Old County and Parker Hill is permanently closed and is not plowed.
A driver heading east on Old County Road failed to stop prior to the road’s ending. The vehicle barreled through a three-foot-tall snowbank, and crashed into a tree.
The operator was evaluated on scene and refused additional medical treatment. Two passengers were transported to Middlesex Hospital via Haddam Volunteer Ambulance Service with minor injuries. (photos by Olivia Drake)
