(November 14, 2023) — At 11:25 p.m. on November 12, 2023, Haddam Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to Parker Hill Road South for a reported “ring of fire” in the woods. Crews on Brush Truck 11-13 worked to quickly extinguish and overhaul the approximate 30-by-30-foot fire.
Fall fire season occurs in Connecticut when falling leaves are dry, but not quite cured. The sun is getting lower and diminishes drying capacity, however fires can spread rapidly.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
