Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident at 10:40 a.m. April 17 on Beaver Meadow Road. A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two trees. A firefighter who was in the area quickly drove to the scene and extinguished a fire in the vehicle’s engine compartment.
The driver was extricated and taken to Hartford Hospital via Haddam Ambulance Service. Firefighters and Fire Police closed the road to traffic during the incident and helped clean up vehicle debris.
