By Olivia Drake, Public Information Officer, HVFC.

Members of Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to more than 20 calls during and following Tropical Storm Isaias on Aug. 4. Due to strong winds, several trees fell across roads, onto structures, and knocked down power lines.

Firefighters worked throughout the day to block dangerous road hazards and help clear tree debris from roads.

In between calls, members also collected seven American flags that had fallen during the storm along Saybrook Road.
