Submitted by Brenda Buzzi.

The HUMC Coffeehouse and Open Mic was awarded a grant from United Methodist Frontier Foundation for the 2019 Rev. Dr. Keith Muhleman Ministry Grant!   Pastor Ahn and Richard Wells were presented with the check and the New York Annual Conference on June 9, 2019.  They then presented it to Brenda Buzzi, Coffeehouse and Open Mic Coordinator.  She also wrote the grant. Andy Buzzi (Brenda’s brother) is the house band and musical coordinator.

Plans are to purchase a small drum set, lighting and other items to enhance the experience. HUMC Coffeehouse Open Mic is an outreach, non-denominational, intergenerational, of musicians, singers, poets and comedians to the stage . Since HUMC opened the Coffeehouse in April of 2012, its stage has been graced by elementary-aged children to senior citizens performers from all over the state and country!!   The average number at Coffeehouse Open Mic nights ranges between 20-80, with about a dozen performers.  HUMC members and friends supply delicious food and baked goods!  It’s all FREE !

The Coffeehouses are held on the 4th Saturday of the month 6:00-9:00 p.m.  The next scheduled is July 27, 2019.  Come out and perform or just come and enjoy!
