(October 16, 2023) —The Haddam-Killingworth High School football team registered its first win of the season over the co-op of Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby, 41-0, on October 13, 2023. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, with Bryce Lacoss’s one-yard touchdown plunge and never looked back.
Lacoss was nearly perfect in the passing game, connecting on touchdown passes of 30 yards to Jamien Evans and 8 yards to Timmy Cavrell. Also scoring for the Cougars were Tyler Napierkowski on runs of one and sixteen yards, and Wyatt Solosky on a five-yard run. Solosky kicked five extra points in the game to add to his TD.
“We played well in all three phases of the game tonight,” said Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “We’ve been telling the kids every week that we are so close to getting the job done, and tonight was the night they put it all together. I’m very proud of the way they played — a total team effort.”
The team next travels to North Branford on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. to take on the Thunderbirds.
