(November 7, 2022) — Daniel Hernandez rushed for one touchdown and threw three touchdown passes as the SMSA co-op (8-0) defeated HK (4-3) in a Pequot interdivisional game played in Rockville on Nov. 4, 2022. Zahkeer Kerr caught two touchdown passes and Russell Smith caught one and added an 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Tate Callender scored HK’s touchdown and had an interception, while Wyatt Solosky kicked a 37-yard field goal for the Cougars.
“We shot ourselves in the foot in the first half with four turnovers,” said HK Head Coach Tyler Wilcox. “But I give the kids credit — they didn’t quit. They played a strong second half against the top team in Class MM and never gave up. I told them after the game to keep their heads up because there’s still lots of football left to be played this season.”
