HKHS Field Hockey Hosts 17th Annual Carrie Ness Memorial Alumni Game

Alumni Game

The Haddam Killingworth High School Field Hockey team has a 0-7-1 record so far this 2019 season. “Unfortunately, the team record does not accurately reflect the hard work, improved stick work, and smart game play that our girls have experienced this fall,” said Head Coach, Wendy Adamczyk. “I have also been impressed by their resilience. They are able to reboot after a loss, and play with 100% effort and positive attitude at every game.”

The 17th annual Carrie Ness Memorial Alumni Game was held recently. Players and coaches from 1979 to present attended, some traveling from Vermont and Massachusetts. Former coach Patsy Kamercia spearheaded this event in 2002, and following the loss of one of our players and coaches, it became known as the Carrie Ness Memorial Alumni Game.

Alumni game action
The best part of that day, according to Coach Adamczyk is “the family atmosphere and the shared love of this great game.” Many of the alumni brought their families and attended a potluck lunch, provided by the parents of the current team members, following the game. The Alumni beat the HKHS team 4-0. “Still as competitive as they were in high school,” commented Coach Adamczyk.
