Boys Basketball 2024: HKHS Wins Final Regular Season Game

(February 22, 2024) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball Team defeated Academy of International Studies on February 21, 2024, by a score of 63-48.   HK finishes the regular season 14-6 and moves on to the Shoreline Conference and state tournaments.

The Cougars were led by junior Andrew Crayton, who had 17 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Senior co-captain Blake Kamoen had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists and sophomore Jay Evans had 11 points and 2 assists. Senior co-captains Bryce O’Linn and Luke Mauri led the team in rebounds with 7 and 5 respectively and contributing 4 points each.  Senior Ryan Erskine had 3 rebounds and 2 pivotal assists while junior Joe Slane continued to excel under the boards with solid defense.

Cody Robinson returned from the injured list with sound play, contributing 5 points. Rounding out the scoring, sophomore Declan Moriarty had 5 points and continues to demonstrate his wide-ranging game. Freshmen Noah Marica and Brody Ferguson also saw playing time. It’s been a great season for the Cougars with solid playmaking by a team that demonstrates a true sense of camaraderie. The team is excited and ready for the post-season. The Cougars will face Coginchaug at home in the Shoreline Conference quarterfinals on Saturday February 24, 2024. Game time TBD. Come out to support the Cougars as they look to extend their season.
