(December 15, 2023) — Gary Van Zilen of Higganum recently took part in a team-building exercise at HYPACK, the company in Middletown where he works as a purchasing and fulfillment associate.
Van Zilen, (above photo, center, with fellow employees Natasha Aiudi of Bristol, left, and Caryn Zacharias of Middletown, right) along with a group of other staff members from HYPACK, got together and built bikes designed especially for Little Brothers and Little Sisters (mentees) in the programs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut, the statewide youth mentoring organization established in Hartford in the mid-1960s.
The HYPACK team was inspired by a similar donation made to Big Brothers Big Sisters this past July by Realized Solutions, Inc. of Southington. “This donation of three bikes from HYPACK is very much appreciated,” said Tara Gill, director of Community-Based Programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut. “The children, we call them ‘Littles,’ who’ll be receiving these bikes are going to be thrilled!”
HYPACK (www.xylem.com.) has been the world leader in software development for the hydrographic and dredging industries since 1984. For more information on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut, visit: www.ctbigs.org.
