Haddam Sustainability Committee Hosts Paper Shredding May 4th

Submitted by Kristin Battistoni

(March 18, 2024) — The Haddam Sustainability Committee is pleased to announce that we will be holding our fourth annual shredding event on May 4, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the former Haddam Elementary School.

We accept all paper. It is a great way to keep paper out of the regular single-stream recycling. Paper clips and staples are accepted; binders are not.

This year we have moved locations. We will be using the HES parking lot instead of the Community Center in order to allow traffic to flow more easily. You won’t even have to get out of your car!

A $5 per box donation is suggested. All money raised goes directly to Haddam Social Services, as it did last year when we raised $712 for the agency. In addition to raising money for a great cause, we were also able to recycle more than two tons of material.

All questions can be directed to HaddamSustainabilityCommittee@gmail.com.
