(August 1, 2024) — Sydni Therrien of Haddam graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Bridgewater College during the May 4, 2024 Commencement exercises.

Approximately 282 undergraduate and 35 graduate students from the Class of 2024 received degrees. Dr. David W. Bushman, president of Bridgewater College, conferred the degrees.

Dr. Oskar Scheikl, former superintendent of Rockingham County Public Schools, served as the Commencement speaker for 2024. In his address, “Self and Service,” Scheikl urged graduates to take care of themselves so that they can take care of others and live life to the fullest. “Focusing on self and service requires the realization that it’s not all about you and those close to you. It’s about everyone.”

Coeducational since its founding in 1880, Bridgewater College is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in the Central Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Today, Bridgewater College is home to approximately 1,450 students. The College offers more than 60 undergraduate majors and minors and four graduate programs housed within three distinct schools.
