Haddam Senior and Social Services Monthly Report: April 2024

(May 13, 2024) — The following is a report from Haddam Senior and Social Services for services provided to town residents during the month of April, 2024. Please note that the Social Services report includes totals for the Municipal Agent

Senior and Social Services

Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced a total of sixty-eight adults and fifteen children. In addition to food, Haddam Emergency Food Bank serviced two families with gift cards to local restaurants and/or grocery stores in town.

Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank serviced a total of two families with fuel assistance: 2- Oil, 0-Electricity, 0- Pellets, 0- Propane

Haddam Social Services serviced four individuals with paperwork assistance.

Haddam Social Services/Clothing Bank serviced 197 people with clothing.

Haddam Social Services did no Wellness Checks during April 2024.

Senior Van

The Senior Van serviced nineteen medical appointments, transported nineteen seniors to/from Senior Center. Twenty-three seniors in total attended the weekly shopping trip; transportation services were provided to one senior for voting, and for two seniors to the Town Office Building in April 2024.

Haddam Senior Center

The Senior Center was open fourteen days during the month of April.

The Haddam Senior Center distributed 110 Estuary Meals for the month of April 2024 and had 316 attendees at the Senior Center.

Nineteen seniors attended the Haddam Elementary School presentation with Town Planner Bill Warner.

Twenty seniors attended Pizza and a Movie.

Four seniors attended the Haddam Cooperative Nursery School Craft.

Twelve seniors attended the Sock Hop with Brian May.

Fifteen seniors attended the “Tick Talk” with Sherry Carlson.

The Haddam Senior Center had eight days where twenty or more seniors attended the Senior Center.
