(November 2, 2023) — The Work Party at Swan Hill Preserve in Higganum is scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. Meet at the former Haddam Elementary School lower parking area.We will be bushwhacking overgrown areas of the trail, posting trail blazes, and generally removing fallen vegetation. If time and volunteers allow, we may begin some trail relocation. This is physically demanding work, but no experience is required!Bring gloves, a water bottle, and a snack. Plan for three hours. The first thirty minutes will be orientation. Tools will be supplied, but feel free to bring your own long- or short-handled hand clippers, folding saws, and lightweight hammers.Your participation improves the trail for everybody!
