Thursday, June 30

Pirates Ahoy – Killingworth Library 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Boys and girls ages 6-9, get ready to build catapults, create model pirate ships and treasure maps, and learn how to tie knots! This STEM/STEAM program will have mini-blocks (generic Legos) galore and so much more! We will finish with model boat races against two neighboring libraries: Brainerd and Deep River. Registration is required. Pirate Camp will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays – please sign up for either the morning OR evening session, not both in the same day. Morning sessions 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Evening Sessions 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. This program will be held under the tent in the library’s back yard. Adults must remain with children for the duration of the event.

Toddler Tunes – Brainerd Memorial Library, Haddam 10:00 a.m.

Minecraft Mania – Killingworth Library 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Open to children in grades 2 through 5, participants will complete a series of quests, activities, and challenges within the game in small groups. Participants may join on a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer; no account or experience is required. Space is limited – further details and registration call 860 663-2000.

Friday, July 1

Higganum Farmers Market  3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Red, White, and Blue! Music by Gale Gardiner.

Saturday Storytime – Killingworth Library 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Game Board Day – Killingworth Library 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Choose from our selection of board games to take or play with friends at the library. Games of skill, games of luck, word-building games, card games… you’ll find plenty of choices! Grab a table and set up with a group, or check out the game of your choice – perfect for the holiday weekend. This is a drop-in event, no signup needed.

Science Wednesdays for Tiny Thinkers – Killingworth Library 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. This 6-week program is filled with hands-on activities! Children ages 2-5  will explore colors, discover what makes things float, learn about wind and rain, and have fun experimenting with gravity. Space is limited, so please register for each session that you wish to attend.

Art Night Mystery – Killingworth Library  5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Choose from a selection of “mystery bags” containing a variety of materials and mediums, and let your creativity rule! For ages 10-17. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
