Girls Swimming 2023: HKHS Wins Season Opener 93-73

(September 26, 2023) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Girls Swim team won its first dual meet of the season on September 19, 2023, defeating Ledyard 93-73. The teams were tied three times before the Cougars pulled ahead after the 500-yard freestyle event at the midpoint of the meet and held the lead until the end.

H-K Junior Olivia “Liv” Macaluso qualified for State Championships in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming 1:10.73. Twelve swimmers scored the winning points for HKHS: Elsa Shatraw (FR), Emma Sajus (SR), Gianna Dabkowski (FR), Layla Hayward (SR), Maggie Miller (SO), Olive Forristall (FR), Olivia Campo (JR), Olivia “Liv” Macaluso (JR), Peyton Tyler (SR), Sofia Campo (JR), Sophia Langer (FR), Veronica “VV” Pypa (JR).
