Haddam Candidates and Voters Mix and Mingle at Brainerd Library Event

(October 27, 2023) — Local candidates for Haddam town offices participated in an informal “meet and greet” with residents on October 17, 2023, at Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam.

The First Selectman’s office, Board of Finance, Regional School District 17 Board of Education, and Planning & Zoning Commission were among those represented.

Residents enjoyed light refreshments while engaging candidates on any issues at all. Dozens took advantage of the opportunity.

Budgets, facilities, teacher salaries and many other topics were touched on, all without any fireworks.

“The event was in keeping with the library’s mission as a community hub for information and discussion of issues that matter to Haddam residents,” said Tom Piezzo, library director.
