Haddam Awarded $1.5 Million State Grant

Submitted by State Sen. Norm Needleman

(December 14, 2022) —As always, I’m continually working with state and local leaders to bring back funding to support the needs of our towns – in particular redeveloping blighted properties so that they may once again contribute to the local economy and vibrancy of a community. I can report that Haddam has been awarded a $1.5 million state grant to complete remediation of the former Cutaway Harrow Company manufacturing complex property. After remediation of the over 4-acre property at 300 Saybrook Road, there are plans to construct medical and retail-related buildings. This substantial grant is welcome news, and it will be a boost to Haddam and the region. My thanks to Governor Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development for recognizing the benefits created for Haddam by awarding this grant funding.
