In the second league game of the season, the Haddam Killingworth High School Girls team came to win. Despite a herculean effort against the Thunderbirds, Goliath was the victor on April 12, 2022 in North Branford. Seniors Grace Cassidy, Yumi Imai and Emily Sorrentino accompanied by Audrey Wrinn, a Junior, and two Freshmen, Ava Ramino and Seanna Ruimerman, closed the gap scoring 9 goals to the Thunderbirds’ 14, while goalies Rhi Phipps and Gabby Williams held off the Thunderbirds’ incredibly aggressive offense.
The Junior Varsity team also came out strong with Sophomore Aly Campbell scoring the first goal. However, the Cougars were unlucky on the field as the JV Thunderbirds went on to score 6 goals, defeating the HK JV team.
You’ll get them next time, Lady Cougars. Just keep those sticks up!
