(May 3, 2022)—On a rainy and cold second day of May, the Haddam Killingworth High School Girls Lacrosse team was defeated in a non-conference game against Bacon Academy, 13-9. Despite the precision and accurate shooting by the Bacon offense, Senior Goalie Rhianna “Rhi” Phipps held off Bacon with a 50% save rate.
The Cougars defense played close to the goal in an attempt to insulate the net and it held Bacon at bay for most of the second half.
Cards were shown and the rain did not help but the HK girls managed to make an aggressive turnaround scoring 9 goals by Captain Grace Cassidy (1), Captain Yumi Imai (2), Audrey Wrinn (3), Georgia Cancroft (1), Samantha “Sammy” Ruimerman (1) and Ava Ramino (1).
Great game, Lady Cougars, keeping those sticks up, even in the rain!
