(Middletown, CT.) Chairman Tom Byrne of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce announced that the chamber once again plans to offer the “Professional Training & Development Program”, free of charge, in 2021.
This important workforce development program has trained over 2,000 people since its inception in 1986. It has received many awards along the way including a Presidential Citation, and The Governor’s Laurel Award.
Chamber Workforce Development Director Lorenzo Marshall noted, “We are excited to offer many free classes for those who want to improve their skillset and improve their professional prospects. Due to the pandemic, the classes offered virtually. We are grateful to the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development for their support of this important program for our community.”

- Mastering the Art and Science of Business Negotiations
- Managing Yourself and Leading Others
- Identifying Opportunities in Market Trends
- Strategic Leadership
- Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides
- How to Be Effective on Virtual Platforms
- Digital Marketing / Create Your Digital Footprint
- Insight into Creating Your Own Website
- Career / Personal Coaching
These programs are available to the public free of charge.
A virtual orientation session will take place for all interested participants and instructors on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 5:30 – 6:30p.m. The orientation session held via Zoom platform.
Please note that this program is grant funded and contingent on receipt of grant funds.
