On Friday night at home, Oct. 29, 2021, the Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity football team defeated the Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby team 21-14.
Orion Inkel scored two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with just over three minutes remaining, to lead the Cougars (2-4) past Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby (0-6). Alex Phipps hooked up with Ryan Duncanson on a 30-yard pass for the other HK score.
Aidan Walker led the way for the Red Raiders, throwing a 48-yard TD pass and running for a three-yard TD.
“We went up early on Windsor Locks only to let them back in the game in the third quarter, a pattern we seem to repeat,” said HK coach Tyler Wilcox. “But tonight, we showed some resolve and turned things around in the end. Major credit goes to Tate Callender. We brought him in late in the third quarter to play quarterback. He was our spark plug.”
