The Haddam Killingworth High School Varsity football team was defeated by Rockville in Higganum on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021. The final score was Rockville 34, H-K 15.
The Haddam-Killingworth football team (2-5) threw a scare into Rockville, the No. 2 team in Class M, before losing a hard-fought game on Friday in Higganum. The Rams (6-1) pulled away in the second half, capped by a Matt Ryan one-yard TD plunge late in the fourth quarter.
Cougar quarterback Alex Phipps threw two touchdown passes to Ryan Duncanson in the game, the second coming on the last play of the first half to tighten the score to 14-13.

“I’m so proud of the kids tonight, especially the seniors who were playing their last home game,” said HK coach Tyler Wilcox. “That was an excellent team we played, and our guys came out and competed with them for four quarters. I thought it was the most complete game we played all year.”
The Cougars next travel to Enfield on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 to play CREC at 11:00 a.m.
