Epilepsy Foundation of CT Converts its End Epliepsy Walks to a Virtual Walk Due to COVID-19

Submitted by Stacey Hathaway.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut has made the difficult decision to forego an in-person Walk to End Epilepsy and instead is hosting a Virtual Walk. The health and well-being of the event participants, volunteers, staff, and the Connecticut community are our top priority and weighed heavily on our decision.

“Even in times like this, seizures haven’t stopped…and neither has the fight to End Epilepsy,” said Linda Wallace, Executive Director. “Which is why we’re hopeful that everyone who planned to attend our Walk in person will join us in full force for our virtual Walk to END EPILEPSY to continue to build awareness and take action together for our cause.”

A kick-off virtual celebration will be held on Facebook Live on May 10, 2020: https://www.facebook.com/epilepsyfoundationct/

Individual registration is $35.00. Start a team, collect donations and walk anywhere–treadmills, trails, or just around your neighborhood anytime between May 10 and June 15, 2020. Encourage your family, friends and fellow epilepsy warriors to do the same with their friends, co-workers, school or club. Prizes will be awarded to the top five fundraising teams.

All proceeds benefit The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut’s programs and services.
