Summer heat can lead to higher energy bills. Try these tips from Eversource:
When the heat and humidity climb, we turn to air conditioners, swimming pools and other ways to keep cool. Higher energy use can lead to higher energy bills.
- On hot days, opt to grill outdoors to minimize running your stove or oven.
- Clean or replace filters on air conditioners once a month or as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Set ceiling fans to spin counter-clockwise to push air down and help your home feel cool.
- Keep window coverings on sun-struck windows closed during the day to block the sun’s heat.
- Fans cool people not rooms. Remember to turn off fans when you leave the room.
