A graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School, Richard Blumenthal went on to serve for six years in the Marine Corps Reserve, rising to the rank of sergeant. He is a former United States Attorney for Connecticut and Attorney General of Connecticut, and he is serving his second term in the United States Senate.
Senator Blumenthal has always been fearless in standing up for the people of Connecticut, never backing down from a fight or failing to put Connecticut first. No matter how big or powerful the special interest or lawbreaker, protecting Connecticut’s people is always his top priority and purpose.
Senator Blumenthal will continue to work to protect women’s right to make their own healthcare decisions. Even with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Senator Blumenthal is working across the aisle to bring down the cost of oil, food, prescription drugs and other basic necessities. He will continue to stand up to polluters to protect our environment, and big tech to protect the next generation of Americans.
