Dear Friends,
My name is Christopher Turkington. I am the Republican candidate for the Connecticut House of Representatives 36th District, which includes the great towns of Haddam, Chester, Deep River, and Essex. My wife, Connie, and I live in Haddam with our three children and our English Bulldog, Stubbs. I chose to run for State Representative because I want to be a part of the change that I wish to see for our state. I want to live in a state that’s affordable, safe, with quality educational opportunities for our children.
My hope is to represent the people of the 36th District with honesty, integrity, and transparency. We have sat back for too long as we have seen our great state ravaged by high taxes, higher energy costs, and government power becoming too centralized in our Executive Branch and bureaucratic agencies, thanks to the damaging policies done by the Democrat leadership in our General Assembly.
As the Republican candidate, if elected, I will work with my fellow Republicans and Democrats to fight for lower taxes to help ease the financial burdens that our residents face today. I will fight to give power back to the parents when it comes to their children’s education, and I will fight for more open and transparent government to ensure the power lies in the hands of who it was intended for, the people of the State of Connecticut.
