Dancing Daffodils Returns for 2021 Picking Season

By Kathy Brown.

Last year was Jen and John Halfinger’s first season for the Dancing Daffodils, when they planted 8,000 daffodils in 10 different varieties. COVID hit and people loved going to the fields by appointment only where they could roam in the fresh air, breathing in the spring air, and picking beautiful daffodils.

Last fall, Jen and John planted an additional 22,000 bulbs, bringing their total up to 30,000 bulbs! “We’ve got an amazing selectin of varieties,” said Jennifer. “Each flower is a piece of living art; they are all so beautiful.”
Daffodils make excellent cut flowers. Picking will begin when flowers reach the swollen bud stage. Call the farm at 860-345-4609 for daily picking updates. Daffodils are .55 per stem. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment.
Halfinger Farms Dancing Daffodils is located .5 mile from their greenhouses at 15 Jacoby Road, Higganum.
“There is something magical about being surrounded by thousands of daffodils,” said Jen. “They renew and inspire. Picking daffodils is one of the simple pleasures in life.”
