(January 4, 2023)–Vehicle #1 was traveling on Route 9 Southbound, just South of exit 12 in Middletown in the left lane of two. While negotiating a curve in the roadway, Vehicle #1 struck the concrete barrier in the median. Vehicle #1 then traveled across the roadway through the right lane and right shoulder, striking a slight embankment and a DOT lightpole, before rolling over and coming to final rest on its roof. Upon Troopers and EMS personnel arrival, Operator #1 was unresponsive and pronounced deceased on scene. The State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad assisted with the investigation. Notification to the next of kin was made.
