CSP: Troopers Arrest Middletown Man for Police Impersonation

(July 11, 2022) — On Friday, July 8, 2022, at approximately 8:07 a.m., Troop F in Westbrook received a report of a vehicle consistent in appearance with a police vehicle, driving erratically in the area of Durham Road (Route 79) in the Town of Durham. The caller provided a license plate and described the vehicle as a gray Ford SUV, which had allegedly displayed flashing red and blue lights.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the SUV described was a privately owned vehicle, registered to a residential address in the City of Middletown. Troopers and Officers from the Middletown Police Department responded to the residence and observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller parked in the driveway. An adult male, positively identified as Vincent Hodge, DOB 09/01/1996, was present at the residence. As a result of this investigation, Hodge was placed under arrest and transported to Troop F, where he was charged with the following:

C.G.S. 53a-130a, Impersonation of a Police Officer

C.G.S. 14-96q, Illegal Use of Flashing/Color Lights

C.G.S. 14-240 Following Too Closely

C.G.S. 14-301 Failure to Obey Stop Sign

Hodge was released on a $10,000.00 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at New Haven Superior Court on Friday, July 22, 2022.
