(July 27, 2023)—The Old Lyme Police, State Troopers, Fire and Ambulance were dispatched to a Motorcycle vs. Bicycle accident on Shore Road by Ferry Road in the town of Old Lyme.
Vehicle #1 was a motorcycle and was traveling southbound on Shore Road at the intersection of Ferry Road. Vehicle #1 was passing a bicyclist who was also traveling southbound in the shoulder on Shore Road. The bicyclist drifted into the southbound travel lane and was struck by Vehicle #1. The bicyclist flipped over his handlebars and landed in the northbound lane.
The Motorcycle Operator lost control when he swerved in an effort to avoid the accident and fell off his motorcycle. The bicyclist was transported with minor head injury by Life Star to YALE New Haven Hospital for precautionary measures. The Motorcycle Operator was transported with minor arm abrasions by Old Lyme Ambulance to Middlesex Hospital
Shoreline. There were no life-threatening injuries. Both the Motorcycle and Bicycle were towed by ALL PRO Towing.
