Cross Country 2018: HKHS at Floyd Parness Invitational

On Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, the Haddam Killingworth High School boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Totoket Park in North Branford to be compete in the Floyd Parness Invitational against Old Lyme, North Branford, Valley Regional and Morgan.  Both teams went undefeated on the afternoon to continue their undefeated season and improve their records to 9-0.

The boys team ran as a pack at the front of the race and finished 1st-12th in the race in the same time of 18:49 for the  3.1 mile course.  The boys were led by sophomore Sean Rutledge as he was followed across the line by: Kyle Criscuolo, Seth Freeman, Matt Jennings, Nate Carlson, Fisher Harris, Dakota Tucker, Greyson Merola, Caleb Freeman, Owen Howes, Christian Uzwiak and Griffin Robinson.  The boys team defeated Old Lyme 15-50, Morgan 15-50, North Branford 15-50 and Valley 15-50.

The girls team also ran as a pack towards the front of the girls race and had five girls cross the line in the same time of 23:24 for the 5,000 meter course.  Julia Callis, Emma Anziano, Meara Bodak, Ali Twachtman and Lauren D’Amico all finished together to place 2nd-7th and were followed closely by freshman Kylie Studzinski 8th (23:45) and senior Sadie Strom 10th (23:56).  The girls team defeated Old Lyme 18-44, Morgan 15-50, North Branford 15-50 and Valley 20-43.

The teams will next be in action on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 as they travel to Thetford, VT to compete in the Woods Trail Run.
