Junior Joe Mercier, playing at #5 singles was the only double match winner for H-K as the Cougars lost to Valley and later in the week defeated Old Saybrook in Shoreline Conference matches played on the Cougars home courts. H-K Captain Charles Martino lost in a tightly contested match at #2 singles against Valley before rebounding with a win against Old Saybrook. The Old Saybrook match win for Sean Mercier at #3 singles and the double match wins for Joe Mercier qualified them both for participation in the Shoreline Conference Boys’ Tennis Tournament scheduled following the completion of the regular season.
