In what was perhaps the most dramatic game of the season, the defending 2021 Shoreline Conference Champion Haddam Killingworth High School Cougars boys lacrosse team defeated North Branford 6-5 in double overtime Thursday night, adding another chapter to their magical 2022 run.
By all accounts the game was a back-and-forth defensive affair, one in which the Cougars did not lead until the final game-winning shot. The victory was a redemption of sorts for the Cougars, whose only defeat on the season was to North Branford in week three.
The win all but solidified HK’s standing as the clear frontrunner in the Shoreline Conference. In numbers and in deed, they are the team to beat. Remaining foes are circling the Cougars game on their schedule. Next.
