Did you know there’s a monthly book group at the Brainerd Memorial Library? The group was started several years ago by Pat Coleman, who was the children’s librarian there. Pat passed away earlier this year, and the group is looking for new members to share their love of reading.
We usually meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the library. We don’t meet in December, and we sometimes change the date in November do we don’t end up competing with the night before Thanksgiving.
We all suggest books and take turns facilitating the discussion and bringing light snacks that coordinate with the book of the month. When we read Lisa See’s “Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” we sipped Pueh-er tea, which was featured prominently in the book.
If you’re interested in joining our gathering starting in January, please send an email to Maureen.pierson3@gmail.com so she can add you to the mailing list and let you know what book we’ll be reading for that month. We’d love to see you!
