Letter to the Editor: A Positive Politician (Dove)

American politicians used to be positive; they used to talk to us about what is possible not impossible; they used to talk about progress not revenge; they used to talk to us about what they would do for us, not how terrible their political opponents are.  State Senator Christine Cohen is one such politician.  She maintains a super-human work schedule, constantly traversing her district and pushing bills through the legislature to make our lives better both in small ways and large ways.  And Senator Cohen is forever upbeat: you will never see a photograph of her when she is less than empathetic, enthusiastic, and frankly cheerful.  She sees politics as a sacred calling to help one another, not as a blood sport.  In these dark times, we need more politicians like Senator Cohen, who can bring us together in hope not anger.  She merits all of our votes.

Professor Michael R. Dove, Killingworth
