Programs and Events at Essex Library, September 2026

(September 3, 2026) — The following programs and events will take place at Essex Library, 33 West Avenue in Essex, during the month of September, 2026:

Wednesday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m. “Tell Your Own Story: A Poetry Writing Workshop,” with J Brooke

J Brooke, author of the recently released poetry collection, “I Can Tell You The Version That Will Make You Take My Side,” will lead a poetry workshop at Essex Library Association. Brooke’s work is known for exploring gender, family and a combination of the two. Come and enjoy a series of fun writing exercise to discover your inner poet. Registration is required. This program is free and open to all.

Thursday, September 17 at 2:00 p.m. “Shifting from Surviving to Thriving,” with Yasmine Cheyenne (Virtual Author Talk)

Join us for an empowering, eye-opening virtual conversation with renowned wellness expert Yasmine Cheyenne as we discuss her transformative new book, “The Comeback Era: From Limiting Beliefs to Living Without Limits.” Registration is required. Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. “Trusts: Everything You Wanted to Know, but Didn’t Know to Ask” (Virtual)

Is having a trust in your estate plan the best option for you? In this session, estate planning and elder law attorney Erin Duques of Daly Perri Arnold & Knierim in Madison will demystify trusts and explain why a trust may – or may not – be suitable for you and why. Wednesday, September 30 at 3:00 p.m./4:00 p.m./5:00 p.m. Medicare Counseling

Do you have questions about Medicare coverage or are you enrolling in Medicare? Register for a one-hour session with a CHOICES counselor at Essex Library Association. Available time slots are 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2026 and on all Wednesdays in October.
