(August 13, 2026) — A Connecticut Labor Day Weekend tradition returns September 4 through September 7, 2026, as the 114th annual Haddam Neck Fair welcomes families for four days of agricultural exhibits, animals, live music, truck and tractor pulls, contests, carnival rides, fair food and the hometown fun that has brought generations back to the fairgrounds year after year.
This year’s fair will carry a little extra red, white and blue as the Haddam Neck Fair joins communities across the country in celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States of America, 1776–2026. The 2026 Fair Book carries the theme “Celebrating Years of Freedom,” with special patriotic touches planned throughout the weekend.
Among the special activities, fairgoers are invited to help create a new America 250 Rock Garden by painting and bringing a rock inspired by America’s 250th birthday or a favorite Haddam Neck Fair tradition. Visitors can add their rocks to the garden during the fair, creating a colorful community display celebrating both the nation’s history and the traditions families have built at the fairgrounds. You can even come paint an already prepared rock at the fairgrounds any Wednesday night leading up to the fair!
Even one of the Fair’s longtime favorite contests is getting a patriotic addition. During Monday afternoon’s Baby Show, a special “Haddam Neck Fair Most Patriotic” recognition will be awarded to the most patriotically dressed baby in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
“The Haddam Neck Fair has always been about tradition, agriculture, community and bringing generations together,” said Jackie MacKnight, a member of the Haddam Neck Fair Association Board of Directors. “America’s 250th gives us another reason to celebrate those traditions. We want people to come out, enjoy the things they have always loved about the Fair, make some new memories and be part of this historic year with us.”
Pulling Action, Live Music and Fair Favorites
The pulling rings will once again be among the busiest places on the fairgrounds. The weekend includes the Street Stock Truck Pull Friday night, Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull and Modified Truck Pull Saturday, Tractorpalooza Stoneboat Pull and Antique & Modified Tractor Pull Sunday, and an Antique Tractor Stoneboat Pull on Monday.
Live music will fill the Bandstand throughout the weekend. River Valley Reunion performs Friday evening. Saturday features The Central City Stompers followed by Caravan of Thieves, and Connecticut favorite Max Creek takes the Bandstand Sunday night.
Runners can also start their Sunday at one of the Fair’s longstanding traditions, the Haddam Neck Fair 5K Road Race, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 6th. The USATF-certified course starts and finishes at the fairgrounds and winds along scenic country roads. Race registration includes admission to the Fair for the day.
But the Haddam Neck Fair is about much more than the headline attractions.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can explore livestock and agricultural exhibits, watch competitions and demonstrations, enjoy carnival rides and midway games, grab their favorite fair foods, browse vendors and spend the day experiencing an old-fashioned country fair.
Saturday’s schedule includes Women’s Skillet Toss, Kids Powerwheels, a Beef Cattle Show, Beard Contest, Hay Bale Toss and Pony Pull. Sunday brings dairy cattle and goat shows, horse pulling, the History Walk, Redneck Strongman/Woman competition and more. Monday continues the agricultural tradition with the Oxen Pull, Working Cattle Show, sheep shearing and spinning demonstration, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull and Baby Show.
At its heart, the Fair remains rooted in agriculture, family and community. For more than a century, the Haddam Neck Fair has been a place where neighbors gather, exhibitors proudly display their work, children experience agriculture up close and generations of families make Labor Day Weekend memories together.
The 2026 Fair Book is now available online, at the fairgrounds on Wednesday evenings, and at many local businesses and community locations. It includes exhibit information, competitions and everything fairgoers need to start planning their weekend.
The Haddam Neck Fair takes place at 26 Quarry Hill Road in Haddam Neck. General admission is $15, senior and military admission is $12, children under age 12 are admitted free, and parking and bleacher seating are free. Weekend passes are also available.
Whether visitors come for the truck and tractor pulls, animals and exhibits, live music, midway, contests, food or simply the chance to catch up with friends and neighbors, the Haddam Neck Fair continues to offer something increasingly special: four days of hometown tradition, community and memories shared across generations.
