(July 7, 2026) — Chairwoman Juliet Cavanaugh of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce has announced that University of Connecticut Head Football Coach Jason Candle will serve as the keynote speaker at a Chamber Breakfast Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The breakfast meeting will be held at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Candle is the 33rd head coach in University of Connecticut Football history, poised to lead the Huskies into a new era of UConn Football. Candle agreed to a six-year contract that will keep him at the helm through the 2031 season. He concluded his tenth season as Toledo’s head coach, guiding the Rockets to an 8-4 record in 2025. With 81 career victories, Candle is the winningest coach in school history, surpassing Gary Pinkel (1991-2000). Under his leadership, the Rockets have won two Mid-American Conference Championship titles (2017, 2022), three MAC West Division crowns, and made seven bowl appearances.

Chamber President Johanna Bond stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Jason Candle to our upcoming member breakfast meeting. Coach Candle brings a championship-winning track record and a bold vision for the future of UConn Football. We look forward to hearing his insights on leadership, building a winning culture, the future of UConn Athletics, and his experience leading one of Connecticut’s most visible collegiate athletic programs.”

The cost to attend is $30 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members. Advance registration is required. To register, please visit https://business.middlesexchamber.com/events/details/member-breakfast-featuring-jason-candle-head-football-coach-university-of-connecticut-35245.
