(July 4, 2026) — This handsome little guy’s name is Dustin, a Dachshund mix, only a year old, and weighing twenty pounds. He is looking for a new home just in time for our nation’s two hundred fiftieth birthday.
This pooch craves love and attention from people and wants constant human companionship. He wants a new home where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time. This guy will be your next cling on ten. He is just the perfect size to go all over the place and have a good time.

Dustin likes to be active and would love lots of exercise, like playing with toys, chasing the ball, and other activities. Exploring new things would be the best ever. He is still learning what it is like to be a dog and what the world is all about. Don’t let him watch the news! Big mistake!
It wouldn’t be a bad idea if he had some leash training. It did me a lot of good, I have to say. You may find it will help him to become more relaxed and confident while exploring.
The poor thing is not liking Protectors of Animals Shelter, so a foster or adopter would be great as soon as possible. Dustin will be your most loyal companion and will love you forever. Let’s spring him out and give him his freedom, just like our country.
Please contact his talent agent Jenn at jenn.w@poainc.org AND please complete an adoption application at www.poainc.org .
