Notice from Haddam Tax Collector Regarding Payments

(June 17, 2026) — The Haddam Tax Collector has announced that a tax levy of 24.98 mills on the dollar has been laid on the 2025 Grand List.  The first installment will become due on July 1, 2026. If payment is not received or postmarked on or before August 3, 2026, the taxpayer is subject to an interest rate of 18% per annum or 1.5% per month or any fraction of a month from the due date. A minimum interest charge of $2.00 will apply to all delinquent taxes. The tax becomes delinquent and interest will be charged as of August 4, 2026.

Payments will be received online, through lockbox, a drop box located outside the Town Office Building, or inside at the Tax Office located in the Town Office Building at 30 Field Park Drive in Haddam. The Tax Office hours are Monday through Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Anyone with questions can contact Sheri Berger by phone at 860-345-8531 ext. 207 or by email at taxcollect@haddam.org.

  1. The tax increase is absolutely ridiculous. We have nothing in this town. 1 state trooper. Volunteer fire. 1 school shut down. We pay $120 for the transfer station. When I tried to change my insurance company, I was rejected from several companies because I don’t have a fire hydrant and the nearest volunteer fire is too far away. Whoever elected these people, please vote accordingly this year!! This town is not what it used to be.
