Programs and Events at Essex Library, June 2026

Submitted by Elizabeth Reinhart

(June 15, 2026) — The following programs and events will take place during the month of June, 2026 at Essex Library, 33 West Avenue in Essex.

Karen Israel Art Exhibit, Through June 30, 2026

Essex Library is hosting an exhibition of pastel artwork by Karen Israel. Israel is an award-winning West Hartford pastel artist who paints a variety of subjects. Her paintings are a carefully constructed dialogue between form and color, where the rigors of formal design serve as the backbone for her artistic expression.

Karen enjoys teaching and is an instructor at many art organizations, conducting painting demonstrations throughout the northeast. Israel’s exhibit is on view at Essex Library through June 30, 2026 and most works are for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. The exhibit is open for viewing during the Library’s regularly scheduled hours.                  (Image above, “A Feast for the Senses”)
