(May 8, 2026) — Despite battling injuries that forced the team to forfeit both second and third doubles matches, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Tennis team earned a hard-fought victory over Coginchaug on May 7, 2026, thanks to a dominant performance in singles play. The Cougars swept all four singles matches convincingly to secure the win.
In singles, Sophomore twins Tyler Medina at first singles and Matthew Medina at second singles continued their strong play with another victory. HKHS also got strong performances from Freshman Cooper Broder at third singles and Senior AJ Livingston at fourth singles. Coginchaug’s victory came at first doubles, where Ryan Legge and Charles Scirocco defeated HK’s Tyler Dickinson and Alex O’Rourke. Coginchaug also picked up wins by forfeit at second and third doubles due to HKHS injuries. Even while short-handed, the Cougars showed resilience and depth by sweeping singles play and doing enough to secure the overall team victory. The Cougars will next play Westbrook in a home match on May 9, 2026.
