Killingworth Community Fund Holds Picnic Fundraiser June 11th

Submitted by Nan Thornqvist

(May 7, 2026) — An evening of good food, fresh air, and community spirit is coming to Killingworth next month as the Killingworth Community Fund (KCF) at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County (CFMC), hosts its picnic fundraiser on June 11, 2026 (Rain Date, June 18th) from 5:30 p.m. until sunset.

The event will take place at the beautiful School Marm’s Farm Orchard and Trails, 153 Iron Works Road in Killingworth, generously hosted again by Ellen and Bill Oppenheimer.  The farm is a perfect setting for a heartfelt “thank you” to the many new and longtime supporters, and a chance to meet new community members and celebrate the people whose generosity and involvement continue to make a lasting difference in the community.

The picnic will be catered by The Kitchen at Futures, Inc., a local organization dedicated to creating opportunities in independent living for individuals with disabilities.  A scavenger hunt will be held on the property to add to the summer fun! Tickets are $25; children ages 10 and under are free. Reservations are requested by June 3, 2026 at:  https://bit.ly/2026-kcf-rsvp or by calling CFMC at: 860-347-0025.

Thanks to our wonderful sponsors: Turnbridge; WJ Financial Advisors; Cloutier and Cassella, Attorneys at Law; Lover’s Lane Flower Farm; Connecticut Burns Care Foundation; Townie Swag; Joan Gay; and Greg and Carrie Wind/Windsong Farm; Killingworth True Value; and Connecticut Water.
