(March 21, 2026) — Maggie is a one-year-old female Shepherd, up-to-date with shots and in need of a new home or long-term foster care. Maggie came to Dan Cosgrove through a breeder. She had a leg defect, so the breeder didn’t want her. The shelter will be paying for an amputation, but Maggie needs to be in a home for recovery. She also has hip dysplasia, which the shelter will pay for when/if surgery is needed.

Potty-trained and crate-trained, Maggie knows basic commands and loves everyone. She takes daily medication in a pill pocket in her food. She’s respectful of cats, but will chase them to play on occasion. Maggie has been tested with children and did great, but she could easily knock over little children because of her size. She currently lives with another dog who has decided she no longer wants to share with Maggie and attacks her. Please go to http://www.branfordanimalshelter.org for an application.
