(September 30, 2025) — Wayne “Wally” Lundgren, 73 of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away suddenly on September 3, 2025 after complications from a recent medical procedure. Third generation to Higganum, born to Carl “Swede” Lundgren and Elizabeth (Schuller), he spent most of his years as a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Haddam and Local 478 before retiring in 2014.
Wayne was a lovable character who brought smiles to many with his snappy comebacks. He was avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, NASCAR and traveling with his wife. He is survived by wife of 53 years, Deborah (Billings), son Jeremiah (JB) his wife Stephanie their two children Kailee and Thomas, along with sister Lori and husband Andy Munson all of Higganum.
While we lost a treasured husband, father and friend, heaven gained a special soul. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Haddam Shad Museum via the Haddam Historical Society.
