All Ages Programs
Hiking Club– Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.: Want to learn about the many cool hikes around town? Come on down to the hiking club! The club meets at the library and travels from there. This month they will be hiking Chatfield Hollow.
Brainerd Family Movie Night: Shrek (2001) – Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.: Come join us for free popcorn and a movie in our newly renovated community room. Shrek is bound to be a great time for ogres, donkeys, and royalty alike.
Adult Programs
Adult Summer Reading Reverse Book Club – Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.: Join us for a personalized book discussion! Whatever you love reading – romance, mystery, or bios – we want to hear about your favorites. Light refreshments will be served.
Culinary Club – Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.: This month our theme is “keeping cool for the summer.” Whatever that means to you…cook it and share! Be creative. See you there.
Jigsaw Puzzle Club – Mondays, August 4, 2025 and August 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.: This is a drop-in event. No sign-up necessary. Work on a jigsaw puzzle provided by Brainerd Library, and bring a puzzle to swap with other puzzlers if you wish!
Drop-In Crafting – Wednesdays, August 6, 2025 and August 20, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.: Drop in for this casual adult crafting group. This month we will be making beautiful Dandelion Puffs and painting our own vases.
Teen Programs
Teen Board Game Night – Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.: Hang out, play board games, or craft a D&D character! Grades 6-12.
Teen Advisory Board – Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.: Discuss volunteer opportunities, get some summer reading in, or just come hang out. A great way to meet new friends.
Teen Dungeons & Dragons – Tuesday, August 12, 2025 and August 26, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.: Join a campaign and experience epic adventures! For new and old players alike.
Teen Taste Test Showdown: Strange Grocery! – Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.: Come taste some of the strangest brand crossovers and limited flavors we can find!
Teen Outdoor Move Night: Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) – Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.: Come snack and watch Monty Python with other cool teens!
Tween Switch Game Night: Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.: Calling all tweens! Come and play fun games with other kids on the switch. Super Smash and Mario Kart are on rotation.
Kids Programs
Preschool Storytime – Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.: Join us for our weekly story time filled with interactive storytelling fun!
Lunch at the Library – Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m.: Make a fun themed dessert, and then eat your bag lunch with the other kids! Come on down and meet some new friends with the other kids. Our last Lunch at the Library program will be August 20, 2025.
Toddler Tunes – Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.: A sing-a-long with live music and fun weekly themes.
Kids Board Game Night – Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.: Elementary age kids can join us for an hour of fun and family-friendly board games, from classics like Connect Four to newer games just waiting to become your family’s next favorite.
Kids Dungeons & Dragons – Ages 7-10 Tuesdays, August 5, 2025 and August 19, 2025 at 4:30 p.m./Ages 11-13 Tuesdays, August 12, 2025 and August 26, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.: Join us at the Brainerd House School of Magical Mysteries for a fun D&D adventure! Age groups will alternate every Tuesday. No experience necessary.
Pokémon Club – Wednesdays, August 13, 2025 and August 27, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.: A club for kids who love Pokémon. Trivia and Prizes! Fat Pikachus! Bring your game and/or cards. Trading allowed with adult permission.
