(June 1, 2025) — As part of ongoing upgrades to strengthen the electric system and improve reliability for customers, Eversource is using a helicopter to replace the existing line at the top of transmission towers with a more advanced fiber optic communication wire.
The new line will be installed in parts of East Haddam, East Lyme, Lyme and Montville and will allow Eversource to enhance communications between its electrical substations. Flights (yellow helicopter– tail #N5072F) will happen intermittently between June 2, 2025 and July 2, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting, along utility rights of way in East Haddam, East Lyme, Lyme and Montville.
