Submitted by Haley Stafford

(March 25, 2025) — The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the 2025 Side Street to Main Street Minority “Business Know-How” Program is now accepting applications. Now entering its fourteenth year, the program is a preparatory companion course, designed specifically to assist minority-owned small business startups in Middlesex County and beyond that have not had formal business training. It assists business owners in becoming more successful by developing the attitudes, skills and qualities necessary for effective business ownership and success, taking them from the side street to the Main Street of the business community.

“Business Know-How” consists of four intensive entrepreneurial instructional sessions over a nine-week period and is offered free of charge to eligible participants. Class sessions are scheduled on Tuesday evenings (unless otherwise noted) from 6:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on the following dates: May 6/May 20, June 3/Wednesday, June 18, with a Certificate of Completion Presentation Ceremony on July 8, 2025.

Class sessions will be held at the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, 393 Main Street in Middletown. Advance Application/Registration is required for participation. To apply/register, or for more information, email Program Coordinator Jennifer at: Jennifer@middlesexchamber.com

This program is funded by a generous grant from Eversource Energy, and has been a most successful and effective way to encourage the development and growth of small, minority-owned businesses that are now part of the business community.
