Obituary: Raymond A. Denison

Submitted by Stephen Denison

(February 16, 2025) — Raymond A. Denison, born June 20, 1942 in Meriden, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Laurie (Lorraine Smith), and two sons Raymond W. Denison and his wife Cathy (Long), and Stephen E. Denison and his wife Jaclyn (Schettino) and seven grandchildren Meghan (23), Gabriel (22), Abigail (20), Joshua (19), Chloe (18), Tabitha (13), and Caleb (11).

Raymond (Ray or Pepper) was the son of Raymond N. and Freida (Dobratz) Denison. He spent most of his life in Killingworth, but also lived for some time in Meriden, and in Punta Gorda, Florida. He worked as the Office Manager for the Town of Wallingford Water/Sewer Division until he retired.

It is with joy and sadness that the family announces his passing. Sadness because Ray is no longer with us, but joy because he is enjoying health and fulfillment for all eternity in Heaven with Jesus Christ. Ray’s earthly loves were his family, building anything with his hands, his boats, and fishing. The main love of his life was Jesus, who died to pay the price for his sins, that he may have eternal life in Heaven.

“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

Services in honor of Ray’s earthly life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Clinton Bible Fellowship Church, 70 East Main Street in Clinton.
